Hello! I'm Sarah, a holistic nutritionist aka lifestyle coach. I want to share a little more about me and how I got here.
I used to believe that eating the "right" foods was way too complicated and that if I didn't have to eat to live, I wouldn't bother. At the same time, I had a vague awareness of food and its affect on how I felt and functioned that turned into a persistent curiosity to know more. This is where my intentional food journey began, whether I realized it then or not. This desire to know more changed the way I viewed food and its role in my life and eventually led me to pursue an education in nutrition. Understanding the purpose and potential of food opened the door to a whole new world and ignited a fire within to open that door for others.
The truth of the matter is that how our bodies function and what they need is both simple and complex. There are many factors in our lives that affect what we need and feel from moment to moment. Also, these factors are completely unique to each and every one of us, which is why there will never be a one-size-fits-all answer to food and healing that works.
This is why I am here! I am here to guide, support, encourage, and educate anyone who is looking for healing through food and lifestyle changes.
Holistic nutrition is about looking at how food fits into your life with all things considered. Stress, sleep, mood, family, beliefs, activity level, work schedule, etc. all affect how and when and what you decide to eat. Once you become aware of your lifestyle and what supports your goals and health, or doesn't, the door opens to making the kinds of changes that will allow a lasting shift towards a healthier and happier you.
About my education:
I attended the Wellspring School for the Healing Arts where I spent two years learning about Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Nutrition. This is where I earned my Certified Holistic Nutritionist (CHN) title.
Shortly after, I enrolled in the National University for Natural Medicine's nutrition program and earned my Masters degree in the Science of Nutrition (MScN).
Everyday I am committed to continuing to learn about food and healing and everything that goes along with it. At the same time, I am committed to sharing what I have learned in order to empower, encourage, and inspire others to love what food truly is and what it can do.
Thank you for stopping by and reading about my story and I hope you will allow me to sit and listen to your story.
Without experimentation, a willingness to ask questions and try new things, we shall surely become static, repetitive and moribund.
